Patrick Wind on the Rising Power of Influencer Marketing

Meet Patrick Wind, the Managing Director of AdsAccelerator.com, a company that provides online support, tools, and training that help entrepreneurs grow their businesses with advanced Facebook and Instagram Ads. Patrick’s hard work and determination have landed him a well-deserved spot on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Europe 2019: Media & Marketing.

Wind has earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Before the success of AdsAccelerator.com, Patrick had failed with his own three different eCommerce stores. However, after finding success, international brands worldwide have implemented Patric’s strategy!

His story proves that defeat means nothing if you are dedicated enough to achieve your goals. It was a pleasure to hear Patrick’s advice on how to find your passion in life, his daily routine, and his views on failure! So, without further ado, let’s listen to what he has to say.

Hi Patrick, thank you for being a part of this mission! It means a lot to me. Do you mind introducing yourself? Who is Patrick Wind? How and why did you choose the career that you have today?

Patrick Wind

As the Managing Director of AdsAccelerator.com, Patrick Wind provides online training, tools, and support, to thousands of entrepreneurs growing their businesses with advanced Facebook and Instagram ads.

After failing with his own three different eCommerce stores, Wind learned the hard way that performance marketing requires much more than just bringing lots of traffic to your website.

It requires the right re-targeting funnel, proven methods for attracting new audiences, as well as compelling ad design and copywriting.

Motivated by his desire to learn and master all of the above, Wind invested 3 million euros into 120 different brands, returning 10.4 million euro in online sales for them.

His ‘Full-Funnel Strategy’ has already been implemented by international brands like ASICS, DiamondSupplyCo. and Bioderma, as well as some of Europe’s highest valued startups like 21Buttons, HolaLuz and Meller.

I would also like to congratulate you for being among Forbes 30 under 30! Was this a dream come true? How was this experience for you?

Yes, this definitely was on my goals list for this year as I’m turning 30 already next year.

It helped me to promote the personal brand and increased the conversion rate for our webinar and only program significantly.

Now, can you tell us what AdsAccelerator is? What is the vision of the company? What is your position in the company? Why is it important?

Patrick Wind

This vision of AdsAccelerator is to democratize Advanced Digital Marketing Skills & KnowHow.

Right now the really advanced strategies and tools are only available to big spenders (typically multinational companies) who even get support directly from their Key Account Manager from Facebook or Google.

But smaller companies won’t receive this help, thus, currently, lack of this opportunity and therefore suffer from a competitive disadvantage.

How well do you manage your time as a young and successful person? What is the best trick for effective time management?

Patrick Wind

Hmm… One pretty useful trick is to plan your day ahead! So before I go to bed, I typically already wrote down what I want to achieve THE NEXT DAY.

This way your brain subconsciously during the night already prepared everything to get it done.

Moreover, I’m a huge fan of Airplane-Mode and deep-focus sessions, without external input for hours.

How hard was it for you to find your purpose in life? How did you figure this is what you meant to do? What would you advise anyone who still struggles to find their career path?

Patrick Wind

Yes, that is not an easy one. I truly recommend everyone to go inside yourself and do a little “self-analysis” during a couple of weeks:

What are the thoughts, ideas & projects that keep coming back to you especially in the moments, when you are completely alone with yourself?

This typically is a good indicator of what your true passion is! And that’s exactly what you should do for a living!

What are the top three skills everyone wanting to be successful should have, regardless of the industry?

Empathy to put yourself in the situation of other people, self-motivation & focus.

What time do you wake up? How do you spend the first few hours of every day? Do you believe it is necessary to wake up very early to be as productive as possible?

Patrick Wind

I typically wake up at 07:30 after 7 hours of sleep, spend time with my girlfriend, do the 5minute-journal, have a cold shower and start the day with a healthy breakfast.

Have you ever failed? How do you cope with it? What is your best advice regarding failure and recovering from it?

Patrick Wind

Well, as I mentioned in the intro above, I failed with my own 3 eCommerce Stores and none of them ever really took-off. In my opinion, there is no such thing as failure, it is just DATA!!!

So, every time you fail, it is just another data point that brings you in the right direction.

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now? What about AdsAccelerator?

Patrick Wind

According to Bill Gates, people tend to overestimate what they can achieve in 1 year and underestimate what they can achieve in 10 years. I also slightly fall in this category and have the majority of my planning on a 1–3 years scope. 😉

But I guess in 10 years I still live here in Barcelona at the beach with my beautiful wife and 2 happy and healthy kids.

At last, what matters in life? What is your definition of happiness? Please explain.

Patrick Wind

Happiness is more important than success.

So don’t think that you will be happy just because you’re successful.

It’s basically the other way round: Try to engage in activities that make you happy and you will be successful in return.
